privateer Δημοσ. 22 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 Μέλος Δημοσ. 22 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 New impressions from Gamespot: TOKYO--When people ask us, "Do you want the good news or the bad news first?" we typically always go for the bad news. In that vein, there's good news and bad news with the upcoming release of Forza Motorsport 2 and we'll give you the bad news first: The game, which was initially touted as coming out during the holiday season has been pushed to the first quarter of 2007. Yes, racing fans, we feel your pain. But with the sharp prick of bad news out of the way, let's get to the soothing salve of good stuff: we saw Forza 2 running today during a private appointment with Microsoft, and the game is looking well on its way to being another fine entry in the series. The build of the game we saw was estimated by producers at 60 percent complete--with the occasional low-res texture on display but nothing that won't be spruced up and in fine working order in the final build of the game. Still, even with those caveats, there's plenty to like about where Forza 2 is heading visually. The cars themselves, which represent makes and models from the newest and most exotic Ferraris and Porshes to your more standard BMW (as well as Peugeots, Lamborghinis, Corvettes, Vipers, Mustangs and so on) and Toyotas, have been built and modeled from the ground up. Whereas smaller details such as headlights were textures in the previous Forza, this time, practically everything on the car is a 3D object off of which light can bounce off of and shadows can be cast. Zoom in close on the headlights, for example, and you can see the individual cylinders housed in the headlight glass, for example. One other graphical trick, self-shadowing, was not found in this build, but producers said they hope to have it implemented possibly as soon as next week's X06 event in Barcelona. During the demo, producers showed off one track in the game, Japan's Tsukuba Circuit, which Forza fans will remember from the first game. This version of Tsukuba is a significant step up from the previous game, however, with much more detail around the track including more signage and safety barriers, and even modeled grass for those areas that feature something other than run-off gravel. We also got to see a new camera view, the bonnet cam, which puts the point of view just above the hood of your car. As in previous games, Forza 2 will feature a bunch of different driving aids which you can choose to turn on or off. Things like anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and gearbox are all selectable here, and the suggested line feature, which was such a success in the previous game, returns as well. Just like last time, the suggested line is dynamic; as you speed around the course, it will change to offer you suggestions on when to hit the throttle, lift off the gas, or step on the brakes. If, however, you aren't able to keep things on the track, you can expect Forza 2 to punish you for it. The damage modeling, which was introduced in the previous game has been taken up a notch this time around. Rear and front bumpers can fall off, windshields will crack into spider webbed patterns, paint can be scraped off your car (and end up on the wall you slap into, by the way), side mirrors can be ripped off, and body work can be badly dented all over. Because certain car companies are more touchy about damage modeling with their cars in games than others, the producers briefly considered letting some cars take more damage than others (such as wheels flying off) but eventually settled for a common denominator of damage that can affect every car in the game equally. As you might expect, heavy damage on a car will affect performance in a very tangible way, leaving you limping to the finish line after a big shunt (or simply trying the race over again). The customization portion of Forza 2 has been kicked up as well. Of course you can expect plenty of customizable parts to deck out your car with. You'll also be able to use the livery creator (which has been upgraded to support hundreds of layers) in order to create exactly the kind of paint/vinyl/and decal scheme you wish to any car in your garage. A new photo mode will let you snap pictures of your cars and share them with friends via the Forza Motorsport Web site, as well. While Microsoft producers were still mum on talking about all the details for Forza 2's online game, here's what we learned today: The game will support online races for up to twelve competitors. In addition, the car club system has returned. Though we hope to hear more about new car club features, one thing we can tell you is that, when customizing your rides, you'll be able to save your designs as templates and apply them not only to any car in your collection but share your templates with members of your car club. In all, we're excited to see where Forza 2 is heading, even if we didn't get a chance to try out the game for ourselves. We look forward to seeing more of the game during next week's X06 event in Spain, where we expect we'll finally get our greedy little paws on this highly anticipated racer. Be sure and check back for more soon.

Blackjim Δημοσ. 22 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 22 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 Fifa better than PES 6 ? Firstly let me add, im not biased to either side, and i prefer gameplay OVER licences. I've been playing soccer games since Emlyn Hughes internation soccer and some even before that on the spectrum. I've also played the likes of what I consider to be the BEST football games EVER, and yet to be beaten which are ISS 94 and 98. OK...so I was invited to goto this game convention and not only did i play FIFA and Pro Evo 6, but got to play multiplayer Gears of War (THIS IS THE GAME TO WATCH!!!) and Lost Planet (didn't think much of it single player but multiplayer was FUN!!!) OK now for the bit your all waiting for.... Which is better FIFA or Pro Evo 6? (TESTED ON XBOX 360) Well, its SO damn close this time around ladies!... Pro Evo 6 firstly, I've always been a huge Pro Evo fan, because I love the gameplay and whilst FIFA hold the licences, its always had a flaw of some sort...and quite a serious flaw. Pro Evo 6 is basically Pro Evo 5 with a few tweaks such as how players turn and feels a little more fluid and definitly faster... altho its not so fast that its off putting... just think its because the ball moves faster which is good! Also found that the shot was more intelligent... for example... sometimes you hit the shoot button in PES5 on the edge of the box when the ball is in the air... and it'll do a diving header... and thats just the wrong choice obviously! NOW..in PES6, it seems more intelligent and you actually volley it! Which is good, but very few tweaks in gameplay, not so many silly fouls this time around i'll be happy to add. So gameplay tweaked = another good game for the PES fans! FIFA!!! Wow... this is the one that has surprised me, I thought oh gawd... do i really have to play this.... but i wanted to, because i buy both games PES and FIFA each year to see which one i like the most and PES has ALWAYS came out on top eventually, because i give into the gameplay. Well... heres some news your ALL going to love.... FIFA 07, plays ALOT like PES 6!... ok it doesn't quite have the new animations (where players lean), but its basically Pro Evo 6 with a licence! FAB NEWS eh?! Well, obviously at this GC i wasn't able to set the difficulty but i found it rather easy to score on FIFA but... considering how easy the opposition was.... I believe it was on the easiest level... I beat 3 players with Ronaldinho and shot in a screamer from 45 yards on my first attempt... so i thought... hopefully this game is on the easiest setting and from my previous experience of games... Im 98% sure it was on the easiest setting. The keepers animation is superb I must add... and generally in my honest opinion... FIFA 07 IS PES6 with a licence. So there you have it! You can whine all you want and whatever, but i, personally am not a 'fan boy' of either side, i just love a great game of football(soccer to my American friends ), and for me....FIFA has come out on top because its come a LONG way, altho it has copied PES which isn't a bad thing, and it holds the licences. I've cancelled my PES6 copy and ordered a FIFA 07 copy Graphics on both games was superb (i only managed to play X360 versions), altho FIFA is slightly better but seriously when the view is zoomed out, it doesn't make much difference although i think PES has EXTREMELY slightly better animations! I got to play both games for about 20 minutes! Im very lucky and very thankful! Also got a free copy of the lame - Just Cause, and a free GC and free game for that. I got paid for this! Jealous? Thought so! -Spoony http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/genmessage.php?board=930760&topic=30529731 pragmatika exw skasei na paiksw auta ta 2 games!! :p
