Assassins Creed Character Control Info

 

The nice chaps at Ubisoft have released some new info on the character control which will be present in the upcoming title Assassins Creed. Ubisoft say that instead of using the old 'X' equals punch and 'Y' equals kick combo, Assassins Creed will instead use the joysticks in weird and wonderful ways to control your character.

 

In Assassins Creed 'Y' will be used for the 'Eagle Eye' view, which is when you kind of zoom in on your goal or target. Buttons 'B' and 'X' will be used for using your arms to either attack or hold on to objects. 'A' like so many other games will be for jumping, which in turn will mean you can climb up walls, gates and fences using the 'A' button.

 

Now the tricky part of the info is where the joysticks come in. Ubisoft say that you will put together joystick and button combos to perform certain actions with your character. This combo system supposedly means the game will fell more free-flowing and easier to play.

 

If you don't understand the above then either re-read it or wait for Ubisoft to explain the new joystick system in a little bit more depth as we are still a little bit stumped by it all. The game is set for an early '07 release on the 360, PC and PS3 look out for more info here at 360Monster (also look out for info on the game from our upcoming sites PS3Monster and ConsoleMonster).

Ghost Recon sneaks its way into a bundle

 

Starting on the 30th of September, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (GRAW) will be featuring in an exclusive Premium bundle in the USA, with some added extras also thrown in for good measure.

 

Due to the game being one of the most popular on the 360, Microsoft has decided to bundle a Premium 360 console, GR:AW, and Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged (XLAU). XLAU will include six games that have been released on the Arcade. All this for just $399.99, which seems a bargain for anyone still wanting a 360. The following Arcade games are to be included:

 

- Geometry Wars Evolved

- Bejeweled 2 Deluxe

- Wik: Fable of Souls

- Hardwood Backgammon

- Outpost Kaloki X

- Texas Holdʼem

 

Geometry Wars is one of the most popular games on the Arcade, and Texas Holdʼem was the fastest downloaded. Wik and Outpost Kaloki X are two great games also, and everyone likes Backgammon, right?! So this bundle is certainly a good deal if you havenʼt already got a 360, or if you were waiting for the price to come down. I have broken it down below so you get an idea of how good this deal is:

As you can see, this is an exceptionally cheap deal, and one I imagine to sell well in the run up to Christmas. Could this be in defence of the PS3 and Wii releases? It will certainly look an attractive package when stood next to the other two boxes.

MS TGS lineup, no Blue Dragon

 

 

It's no secret that we're a little excited for Blue Dragon, the little game from Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker. It's also considered to be one of Microsoft's few big titles in Japan. This makes one wonder why Blue Dragon isn't featured on Microsoft's lineup for the Tokyo Game Show. We can only assume it won't be a no show. After all, Blue Dragon is supposed to be Microsoft's system seller this holiday. This is supposed to be what the Japanese will see when they find out the PS3 is sold out. Suffice it to say, we'd be more than a little surprised if Blue Dragon didn't make an appearance.

 

Still, there are plenty of other notable titles like Forza 2, Viva Piñata, Sonic, DOAX2, and, of course, Gears of War. See the complete list after the jump.

Bringing It Home for TGS and X06

 

Enjoy Tokyo Game Show and X06 direct from your living room with an all-access pass to the biggest video game events of the fall

Xbox Live is “Bringing It Home” and invites Xbox 360 owners to check out games, demos, trailers and news from the show floors

Gamers donʼt have to be on the Tokyo Game Show and X06 guest lists to have a front row seat to all of the action, because this year Xbox brings these event show floors to you. Following on from the success of “E3: Bringing It Home,” Xbox is inviting all gamers to enjoy exclusive access via Xbox Live Marketplace to Tokyo Game Show, the largest show from the worldʼs second largest gaming market, and X06, the ultimate Microsoft games showcase.

Starting Wednesday, September 20, through Friday, September 29, connected gamers can access the best content from the Tokyo Game Show in Japan and X06 in Barcelona, Spain, including highlights from both press briefings, daily updates and behind the scenes videos from the show floors as well as the hottest playable game demos and videos in high definition. The majority of this content will only be available until 12:00 a.m. PDT on September 29, so be sure to download everything you want while it is available.

In total, more than 100 pieces of new downloadable content will be available to gamers during the nine day period, including a never before announced major franchise on Xbox Live Arcade.
