Lost Odyssey Demo Available At TGS 06

 

According to Gamespot, there will be a playable demo of Lost Odyssey, the much-anticipated Mistwalker RPG, available at this year's Tokyo Game Show. The demo's graphics, according to Mistwalker CEO Hironobu Sakaguchi, are about 80% of the finished game's graphical quality. The cut-scene cinematics and the gameplay both use the same engine -- the modeling is almost identical. The gameplay in the demo, however, only represents the true gameplay system in its "most basic form." The game's release date window, according to Sakaguchi, is still up in the air as well.

Prey Content on 360, PC to be Free

 

There was much debate over the nature of downloadable content when 3D Realms suggested the pricing (or potential lack there of) of Prey's additional content on the PC may be different than what was offered on Xbox 360, even though the content would likely be the same. Microsoft's made clear that free content on Xbox Live is strictly enforced, suggesting a PC vs. console divide could take place.

 

Whether 2K Games succumbed to gamer pressure or Microsoft was feeling especially lenient, 3D Realms announced today that the upcoming content would be free on both Xbox 360 and PC, with no strings attached. The bonus pack will include additional character skins and multiplayer maps, and no release date has been set, but 3D Realms says it will likely be sooner rather than later.
