Official from Bethesda:

 

"Oblivion uses the Xbox 360 hard drive extensively to cache (copy and reuse) game data. This is done to optimize all loading the game does. It has been found in rare cases on some Xbox 360s that the cached data can get overly fragmented. This exhibits itself by the game taking a long time to load anything from menus, dialogue, sounds, objects, levels, and more.

 

To solve this problem, reset your Xbox, and hold down the A button as the game is booting up. If any button is held while Oblivion is loading, it will clear its hard drive cache, and create a new one. Once you see the “Bethesda Softworks” logo video, the game is already loaded, and the cache should have been cleared.

 

Note, this does not effect your game in any way other than loading. You will not lose any saved data."

CellFactor (without 'Combat Training') is the full blown game. That's just a tech demo using the game asset to show off Ageia's hardware.

Xecuter Xbox360 DVD Firmware Progress: Read, Write Firmware from PC

We have made some progress when connecting the Xbox360 DVD ROM to a PC - reading the firmware and then writing back to it. Our goal is to make this plug and play - as simple as possible that anyone could do it with no fuss - and without any great expense.

 

We have a couple of products lined up to make life incredibly simple for the DVD drive modder - one of which will (in our opinion) be the "tool of choice" in the near future.

 

Here's a picture of a 360 DVD ROM connected to a PC.

Japanese Kotaku scout Sean A. also wrote into let me know that the price is conditional on signing up for @TCOM service (an ISP that I personally donʼt know about, Sean, but thanks for the benefit of the doubt) AND buying an Xbox 360 with your game. Thanks a billion yen, guys! Rest assured that Japanese retailers are still charging full price for the standalone Xbox 360, so Mr. Allard, please come down from that ledge!

running Ninty games on XB360

 

Here's how it works: this is accomplished by firing up a web browser-based Java emulator on a Windows Media Center PC and then streaming the content displayed in that web browser window via Microsoft's Media Center Extender software to the Xbox 360. It's not the 360 emulating the old games, it's the Media Center PC. The Xbox 360 simply displays whatever's going on in the browser back on the PC that's doing the emulating. Basically, any program that can be run in a browser on a Windows PC can be run on an Xbox 360 through this method.

 

Here's the current status: Forum users report varying degrees of success getting the application to work. There appear to be three issues.

The speed of the Windows Media Center PC is important, as running finicky, slow emulators at full speed requires faster PCs.

The connection between the Xbox 360 and the PC needs to be fast. Some users with suboptimal home networks report lag issues. Remember, this is basically remote control of a PC via an Xbox 360. Network speed is very important.

Sound isn't working yet, but Xexter and other programmers are surely hard at work on that issue.

...αφου σκεφτεται να μετοικησει στην κινα ρε σεις για να ειναι ευτυχισμενος fan! lol!

 

τι να μας πεις για το 360 ρε slay, που την τιμη του ps3 δεν την ξερουμε ακομα γιατι μεεεεεχρι να βγει,

θα εχουνε αλλαξει εθνικο νομισμα η ιαπωνια η αμερικη και η ευρωπη μαζι!!

για αυτο δεν λενε τιμη τα παιδια.. :-D

δεν πειραζει... κατσε εσυ και κοιτα τα flyers και ασε εμας να ...ταλαιπωριομαστε με fight night (ναι, εκεινο το tech demo του ps3 ρε συ, ειναι game στο 360..), με ghost recon, με oblivion και τις λοιπες ...αβαριες 8)

 

ατιμη ζωη... sucks every fuckin' day to play on 360... :mrgreen:

To premium xbox360 ξεκίνησε 331$ στην Ιαπωνία με game δώρο, και από την πρώτη στιγμή ξεκίνησαν και οι προσφορές για να μην τους μείνουν.

 

Αλλά με τους ρυθμούς των 5.000 το μήνα που έχουν τώρα μπορεί να τους πάρει πολύ ακόμα να ξεφορτωθούν το αρχικό shipment του Δεκεμβρίου, οπότε λογικό είναι που το προσφέρουν με κάθε ευκαιρία.

Και οι Isp δεν είναι ακριβοί στην Ιαπωνία όπως εδώ για να μπορούν να κάνουν πραγματικά τέτοιες προσφορές...

Λογικά το παίρνουν από τα "αζήτητα" πιο φτηνά από την κανονική του τιμή, για αυτό μπορούν και το δίνουν τόσο.
