Other applications, such as Lightwave 3D and D-Vision, use newer Sentinal drivers and aren't compatible with those included in the After Effects Production Bundle. (Although After Effects is compatible with the newer drivers.) When you install After Effects, the After Effects installer overwrites newer Sentinel drivers with the older drivers.<P><BR>After Effects 4.0 Production Bundle for Windows includes the 5.37 version of the Sentinel hardware key system drivers. Other Sentinel-protected applications (e.g., LightWave 3D, Kinetix 3D Studio Max, and Avid MCXPress), may use an older version of the Sentinel driver. If one of your Sentinel-protected applications doesn't work with the newer driver version, you can install the older drivers by reinstalling the that Sentinel-protected application. After Effects 4.0 Production Bundle also supports the older Sentinel drivers.<P><BR>On Windows-based computers, hardware keys are usually connected to a single parallel port. However, depending on the order in which parallel devices are connected to each other, the system may not recognize one or more of the devices.
