n a typical XP system the My Videos and My Music folders will be recreated if deleted from the My Documents folder. Here's how to delete them forever.

 

Directions -

If you do not want the various subfolders such as "My Videos" and "My Music" from being recreated, just follow these directions.

 

Disable --

 

1. Click Start

2. Click Run

3. Type the following in the run textbox regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll

4. Click OK

 

 

Some programs may take advantage of a few of the features in mydocs.dll. If you notice a program not working correctly, you can re-enable it.

 

Enable --

 

1. Click Start

2. Click Run

3. Type the following in the run textbox regsvr32 mydocs.dll

4. Click OK

For "My Pictures"/"My Music" etc the easiest solution is to set their paths to "My Documents" vis any knid of tweak (X-Setup rules) or by hand in registry.

 

This doesn't work for Adobe's "My eBooks" though. To disable that you are to delete "eBook.api" in Plug_Ins folder of Acrobat or Reader. Instead of deleting, changing extension to ".noapi" or whatever helps too. Surely enough, either way you lose this plugins' functionality

Εγώ π.χ. προτιμώ το Desktop αντί να είναι στο C:\Documents and settings\alkisg\Επιφάνεια εργασίας να το έχω στο D:\alkisg\Desktop.

 

Υ.Γ. χρειάζεται να το αλλάξεις ΚΑΙ στα δύο και μετά να κάνεις αποσύνδεση ή επανεκκίνηση.
