The Cry Effect is a single player mod for Far Cry aimed at using the Crytek engine to it's fullest potential. It features all new particle effects utilizing shaders and dynamic lighting, 7 new weapons, re-scripted original maps, redesigned sound engine and much more. There are also some features not seen in other engines, more info to come on these.

 

This video was filmed during development and displays some of the new visual effects and weapons in the mod. This is not a complete picture of what the mod is about and much of the content has been updated since filming. The screenshots included are from a later build and show some more of the features, like complete destruction of corpses.

 

All third party content seen in the video was used with consent. Release date is late 2005.
