With all the hype that has been building and building for the Revolution, Matt asked if the Revolution had a chance to live up to that hype come E3. Reggie said that "it will surpass the hype" and "will be fantastic". Link---> Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 20 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 20 Απριλίου 2006 Revolution Impressions From Un-named Source DailyGame wanted to give us some insight and details on the Nintendo Revolution controller, but they havenʼt been able to get their hands on one. Instead of scrapping the idea, they have gotten an interview with someone from leading publisher that is hard at work on a Revo game. Check out the interview below: -Thereʼs a lot of talk leading up to E3. What are you most excited about at E3 this year? Anonymous Source: Thatʼs tricky, because we all know so much more will be revealed at the actual show. With that said, Iʼm excited to see more about Enemy Territory, Crysis, Ubisoftʼs Project Assassin, the PS3 Ratchet and Clank, Zelda, but am most eager to check out the slate of Revolution titles. -Yeah, Revolution is up there on our list too, although more from a curiosity standpoint than an “excited” one. Nope, be excited. What Nintendoʼs doing with their controller is as important as the analog stick or mouse were. I love what Iʼve played with so far. -Sounds like youʼre just drinking their Kool-Aid…. I donʼt get their Kool-Aid, I just know I like what Iʼve played. If the first-gen stuff is this fun, I canʼt wait to see what else people come up with. If weʼre looking at the equivalent right now on the Revolution of what Nights, Mario 64 or Ape Escape started in terms of analog control…. -Itʼs really that amazing, huh? Do you think it will lose some people, or is it going to be universally accepted? Well first, I must say I agree with Nintendoʼs recent silence. People really just need to come into contact with it to understand it. Iʼm sure Reggie and Iwata could talk and talk, but people really need to just use it. And releasing screenshots side by side with photos of what people are doing with the controller, like you saw in the Red Steel article, is great because the screenshots alone donʼt give you the same context. As far as the Revolution being universally accepted, Iʼm sure youʼll have a lot of people who choose not to try [the controller] and write it off. But I think in general, people are going to love it, and I think new people are going to love it…. Itʼs a much easier experience for someone who doesnʼt know games to learn a game with it. -So if they write it off itʼs probably because they didnʼt try it, then? Thatʼs a pretty rousing endorsement on your end. Thatʼs why I canʼt wait to try everyone elseʼs stuff. Iʼve tried some early stuff, and it sounds kind of silly, but the fact that youʼre sort of moving with what you see on the screen, it tricks your brain a little more, giving you a better feeling of speed/immersion, etc. Youʼre not suddenly going to think youʼre having that Peter Moore lucid dream, but sometimes your brain lets you get tricked better, and you get a slightly new sensation in a game context. http://www.dailygame.net/news/archives/005490.php Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές

panther_512 Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Play Revolution Before Anyone Nintendo is offering diehard fans the chance of a lifetime. Click here to find out what we mean. Nintendo on Thursday afternoon announced a partnership with AOL.com that is sure to please anybody anticipating the successor to GameCube, still-codenamed Revolution. Through a contest with AOL, the Big N is planning to fly three lucky finalists to its media briefing and the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2006 to see and play the latest and greatest the company has to offer. Better yet, one of these three finalists will be "the first person in the world to play Nintendo's next home console," according to the firm. This statement is not exactly true since thousands of developers and some media have already gone hands-on with the system, but hey, it sure sounds nice. To be eligible for the contest, gamers must sign up at http://www.aol.com/Nintendo-first-to-play between April 21 and April 28. Three finalists will eventually make the cut and the luckiest of all participants will even take the stage at Nintendo's Kodak Theatre media briefing to play Revolution before anybody else in attendance. "No consumer has ever played this new Nintendo system before," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "But more importantly, no one has ever interacted with video games in this way before. Our next home console will revolutionize how people play and experience video games." "As one of the leading game destinations on the Web, we are thrilled to partner with Nintendo to give our AOL Games community the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the very first person to play the highly anticipated Revolution console," said Ralph Rivera, vice president & general manager, AOL Games. Entrants do not need to be members of AOL, but they will need to be 18 or older to participate in the contest. link-------> Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
panther_512 Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Revolution Details Coming to Famitsu Next week's issue promises early E3 scoop. Revolution is starting to get some buzz even in Japan. Earlier today, we reported on a scan of an upcoming issue of Jump Magazine that seemed to confirm Dragon Ball Z for Revolution. While the validity of the scan has yet to be confirmed, we can confirm one Revolution bit: a Revolution game or games will be unveiled on the pages of Famitsu next week. Famitsu is currently publishing a "scoops" section in each week's issue, leading up to E3. This week's scoop was Ridge Racer 7 for the PlayStation 3. In its preview for next week's issue, the magazine promises details on Revolution software as part of the scoops section. It may be one game, it may be more than one game -- we'll have to wait until next week to find out for sure. Check back late next week for more. link------> Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
panther_512 Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Dragon Ball Z to Revolution A new magazine scan suggests the popular fighting franchise is coming to Nintendo's new system. Some convincing scans of the latest issue of Japanese magazine Shounen Jump have hit the Web, and there's some good news for Dragon Ball Z-loving Nintendo fans. The publication claims to have the world exclusive premiere on Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Neo, a new 3D fighter set in the famous anime universe. And guess what? It's scheduled for release on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Revolution. It's difficult to glean legitimate details from the blurry scans of the magazine's cover - there's not much there - but the issue does promise that Sparking! Neo will feature 100 warriors and that a "transform D" will take place in real-time, whatever that means. Obviously, the Revolution title will feature control mechanics that take advantage of the system's innovative new pointer. Sparking! Neo appears to be a sequel to the already-released Sparking!, which is known as Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi in the US. The title, which was developed by Spike, earned an 8.2 from IGNPS2 when it debuted on PlayStation 2 last year. The game offered free-roaming action mechanics combined with a stylized fighting engine. Neo will undoubtedly continue the groundwork laid down in the first game and add in even more variety, more moves, and Revolution controller support. We contacted Atari for comment, but the company did not return our phone calls in time for publish. IGN would like to reiterate that all of this information comes via a couple of alleged scans. Our Japanese correspondent could not yet validate this news because the latest issue of Shounen Jump had not yet hit newsstands across the region. Bearing this in mind, we ask that readers consider this a rumor - albeit a very likely one - until we can follow-up with a legitimate confirmation. link---> Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Suda 51/Grasshopper Revo game at E3, but not playable We reported a few weeks back that Suda 51ʼs new game for the Revo would indeed be at E3. Some more news has come in via AMN who managed to talk with Grasshopper Product Manager Nobuhiko Nakamura. Apparently the title will be shown at E3, but it will not be in playable form. It also appears that the game may be shown off during Nintendoʼs media briefing, instead of on the show floor. I will be present at the media briefing to try and take pictures, video, and blog from the event. I do not know what will actually be possible simply because Nintendoʼs media briefing this year is extremely tight. Seats are assigned, and only one to two tickets are being given out to many outlets. I have heard that even the Wall Street Journal has only received one ticket, and are in the process of trying to get another. http://gonintendo.com/?p=2157 Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Game Informer Unlimited George Harrison Interview Summary 1. He (Harrison) has heard from EA during financial calls. EA mentioned having a few (maybe 3) games to show at E3 and hope to launch with them. 2. Revolution price has not been announced and may not even beannounced at E3. They are currently in a cat and mouse game with competitors (Sony) regarding price. 3. They learned from Xbox 360 that they only have one chance for the first impression, and they need to meet demands during launch, but worldwide is the plan, even if it is on different days in a small time frame. 4. They are looking for Third Parties to create games that fill in missing genres Nintendo canʼt. 5. Harrison also does not believe in the $60 price point. $50 and lower if it is reasonable. 6. They have had conversations with Rockstar. Not sure of any specifics. 7. Has not seen any demonstrations of Revo-DS interactivity. It sounds like they were discouraged by the way GCN-GBA interactivity went. 8. They will not be abandoning the "Gameboy" name, but this yearʼs focus is on the DSlite. 9. They have sent out 1000 dev kits. 10. Not all retro games will be available on launch. The games need to be adapted for the Revolution, and they've got teams dedicated to doing that programming, but not all games will be downlodable at launch. 11. The retro games will have some bonus content or new content. 12. Said there will be a 'big name' character franchise from Nintendo at launch. He said it's not Smash Bros. 13. There will be playable demos for the public at E3. 14. Indicated that there will be Xbox Arcade style minigames on the VC service. 15. There weʼll have a wide variety of third party games in Nintendo booth. They would also like to have these games featured in the publishersʼ booths as well. 16. Thereʼs maybe more than one secret. He think that there will be new things revealed at E3. 17. He said that in some ways people say it feels more like a PC interface. Thatʼs really what they want. We want people to feel like "Iʼm not focusing on the nature of this interface. The interface to me just becomes intuitive." kostacurtas Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 New Miyamoto IP, Pikmin Revolution, and Kid Icarus Revolution? As our readers know, SPOnG isnʼt exactly the most trusted source of video game news out there, but they do get things right from time to time. Keeping that in mind, have a read at what they are saying is going on at E3. -First off, they predict a new IP from Miyamoto, and this is the only part of the article I 100% believe. I say that because we have been hearing from Nintendo themselves that Mr. Miyamoto is working on a new IP for the Revolution, and I am sure we can expect to hear something of it while at E3. -Second, SPOnG tells us that Pikmin Revo is a definite lock, but the title may not make an appearance at E3. I find it hard to believe that if Nintendo were working on a new Pikmin that they wouldnʼt show it off in some form, be it video during the media briefing, or something along those lines. While I am sure we will see a Pikmin on Revo, I donʼt know if we will see/hear of it at E3. -Lastly is the biggest, and easily the most questionable piece of information coming from SPOnGʼs article. They say, and I quote, "The next little gem we have is the belief amongst trusted Japanese press sources that Nintendo will reveal a new Kid Icarus game for Revolution at E3. We have no other details at time of going to press, other than several sources we have worked with on major Nintendo news in the past indicate to us that this classic NES platformer will be revived in a few weeks." Nintendo fans have been clamouring for a new Kid Icarus for years now, especially when the hype for the Revo began. We have seen many fan made posters and art pieces showing love for Kid Icarus, and hope that the game will make a reappearance. While I can only cross my fingers that this piece of news comes true, I would say that the only real news about Kid Icarus for now is that we can most likely expect to see it as a download on the Revo Virtual Console. kostacurtas Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 21 Απριλίου 2006 Revmote joystick attachment capable of motion detecting? Without naming names or companies, I got an e-mail this morning from an old-time Nintendork that doesn't visit the site as much, but partly because he's working hard at a game developer. Being on the "inside" he hears things we don't, and while this falls in the "heard from a friend of a friend" realm, I thought I'd let his words do the talking: The Revolution "nunchuck" attachment has "its own" accelerometer inside of it. This means that the Revolution is capable of detecting the motion and position of "both" pieces of the nunchucks. I don't think this is something that anyone realized before. And at first it may not even make sense. But consider a "first-person sword-slasher" game that played like this: -You move around (walk forward, strafe to the side) by using the joystick with your left hand. -You turn your character's "head" by turning and moving around the left nunchuck piece. You point it up, your view looks up; you point it left, your view turns left. -You can swing a sword by swinging the "right nunchuck", i.e. the "remote control" piece. I'm not saying that I've heard of a game being made that works that way; I'm just pointing out the extra capabilities which this could provide. If this is true (and again, I believe this rumor is quite reliable), it's an additional level of depth in the Revolution controls which may not have been previously realized. Essentially you have dual 3D mice... which is pretty cool. http://nintendorks.com/ Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
panther_512 Δημοσ. 22 Απριλίου 2006 Share Δημοσ. 22 Απριλίου 2006 Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 US Announcement It's official. First bits of info and media included. We'd hinted at it a few days ago, but Atari has made it official: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is headed to the PlayStation 2. Japanese magazines have also revealed that a Revolution version is in development, but Atari seems to be holding off on making the official announcement for that build. That's right DBZ fans, it's time for more Instant Transmissions and over-the-top explosive action. Expanding on the first Tenkaichi in just about every way possible, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 combines action, fighting and role-playing game elements into a storyline that spans the entire Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT series. The game will feature over 100 playable characters (including many that have never been in a DBZ game before), 15 massive and destructible environments and nine different play modes. Many of the game's missions are ripped straight from the TV show, allowing fans the ability to relive their favorite DBZ moments or take characters into custom battles that they'd never see on the show. An assortment of mini-games and tag-team fights expand upon the main story mode, and the ability to post customized character codes on the Internet hints at immense replayability. The Revolution build will obviously take advantage of Nintendo's unique controller for added functionality. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is scheduled for release in October for PlayStation 2. It is not yet known if the Revolution build will debut alongside it, but if we had to guess, we'd say yes. link-------> Συνδέστε για να σχολιάσετε Κοινοποίηση σε άλλες σελίδες άλλες επιλογές
