Famitsu: "Wii Could Be The Most Popular Of All Time"

 

This gen's console king PlayStation 2 is going to be dethroned. And it's going to be the Wii that does it. At least, according to the president of Enterbrain and Editor-in-Chief of Famitsu, Hirokazu Hamamura. In a Bloomberg business piece, Hamamura states:

 

Wii definitely could become the most popular console of all time. Non-gamers can see how fun it is just by looking at people playing it, and that's very different from the PS3 or Xbox 360.

 

Different and fun. If the DS is any indication of what gamers want, Nintendo looks like it has a hit on its hands with the Wii. But, most popular console of all time?

Necro-Nesia teaser site open

 

The teaser page for Spikeʼs upcoming survival horror game Nerco-Nesia has just been launched. Right now the site only offers an intro, story summary, and a product outline fact sheet... all in Japanese. The site will be updated on October 2nd, which should bring much more info such as screenshots and character art.

Τώρα να σας πώ το άλλο το κουφό, και σόρρι εκ των προτέρων για το off-topic.

 

Εχώ εδώ στη Κύπρο μιά πολύ πολύ πολύ καλή φίλη (όσο φίλοι μπορεί να είναι ένας άντρας και μιά γυναίκα, τέλος πάντων κλείνω την παρένθεση), και εν πάση περιπτώση ξέρει την μανία μου με τα PC τη Nintendo κλ κλ κλ.

 

Πάντως με το Brain Age στο DS ξετρελάθηκε.

 

Όπως και να ΄χει, μιλούσαμε ψές σε ένα πάρτι που πήγαμε και μου λέει:

 

"Ελλάδα έχω ένα κολλητό που θα σου αρέσει πολύ, και αυτός πορωμένος σαν εσένα είναι"

 

"Άντε ρε, σοβαρά?" της απαντώ.

 

"Ναί", μου λέει " και μάλιστα τώρα δουλεύει πάνω σε παιχνίδι για υπολογιστή και πιάνει και πολύ καλά λεφτά"

 

"Φτιάχνει παιχνίδι???? Τί, κάνα pac-man αλλα greek-style?" Την ρωτώ.

 

"Δέν ξέρω" μου λέει "Πώς το είπε να δείς? Θέση? Θέσεις? Κάτι τέτοιο"

Ρε παιδιά δεν έχει νόημα να συγκρίνουμε το Wii με το ΧΒΟΧ!

To XBOX έχει επεξεργαστή pentium III που είναι υποδεέστερος του PowerPC της IBM.

 

To ΧΒΟΧ είναι συγκρίσιμο με το GameCube, και όσοι υποστηρίζουν το αντίθετο δεν παρακολουθούν τη τεχνολογία μικροϋπολογιστών.

 

Ολα τα συγκριτικά αναφέρουν ότι ο Pentium 'πιάνει' το 60 με 65% της απόδοσης του PowerPC.

 

Ακόμα, τόσο η CPU του Wii όσο και η κάρτα γραφικών είναι ειδικά κατασκευασμένες για τα παιχνίδια της Nintendo. Ο περίπου 1 - 1.3 GHz επεξεργαστής του Wii συγκρίνεται με Pentium 1.8 GHz με 2 GHz.

 

Συν τοις άλλοις, έχει μικρότερη κατανάλωση ισχύος-->μικρότερες θερμοκρασίες αναπτύσσονται-->μεγαλύτερη απόδοση.

 

Στην απόδοση συμβάλει ακόμα και η cache memory.

Wii Tennis - In Wii Tennis, the character automatically moves to where the ball will land. The player then has to use the correct stroke and swing to hit the ball. Nintendo states that the remote is sensitive enough to make it possible to add spin to the ball. Players grab the controller like a racket and swing; the game will register forehands, backhands, volleys, lobs, slices, spin, and power depending on how fast the user swings and at what angle. Multiplayer with up to 4 players is supported.

 

Wii Baseball - The character stands at home plate, and is required to hit a ball thrown by a computer pitcher. Players grip the controller like a bat and swat fastballs out of the park in a home run derby, but it is up to the player to use the correct timing and positioning to hit the ball. Again, Nintendo has indicated that specials such as spin will be possible. In the two player game, one player pitches and the other bats.

 

Wii Golf - In Wii Golf, the controlled character always faces towards the hole, requiring the player only to choose the appropriate strength with which to swing. After each swing, the player moves to the ball's new location and swings again. The faster players swing the controller, the further the ball will fly. Putting requires more delicacy and may involve lining up the actual putt.

 

Wii Boxing - This is the first Wii Sports title to use both the controller and the nunchuk attachment. The player holds one in each hand, then jabs to punch. Raising both hands (controllers) blocks punches from the opponent. Two players can compete on a split-screen view.

 

Wii Bowling - In Wii Bowling, the player swings the controller backward, and then pushes it forward to roll the ball, similar to the motion required for golf. Spin can be put on the ball by tilting the controller on release.
