Apparently, third party developers will not be able to utilize the online interface of the Wii until well into 2007. What a dissapointment.

Despite all the news flying around, we havenʼt had a concrete answer on whether the Broken Saints video game will be coming to the Wii. Many expected a Wii version to be a sure thing due to creator Brooke Burgessʼ fondness for Nintendo. While still nothing official has been said, this audio clip is as close as we come. In an interview with Cubed3, Brooke Burgess discusses the Wii in general, which then leads into a semi-confirmation of the title heading the Wiiʼs way. Have a listen to the interview for yourself, and drawn your own conclusion.
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 29 Αυγούστου 2006 Δημοσ. 29 Αυγούστου 2006 Elebits Hands-On Preview All in all, Elebits seems to be an ideal game for the early parts of the Wii's life cycle. It makes no bones about what it is attempting to do, which is to attack head on the possibilities for interactions using the Wii controller. While there is undoubtedly some sort of story progression and resolution, the game really revolves around the fundamentally satisfying act of interacting with a well-stocked world in a novel and intuitive way. To drive that point home, the game even has a "sandbox" mode that allows players to just keep on playing in a given level after the necessary wattage level has been reached, continually powering up the gravity gun and gaining more lifting power. Assuming Konami has packed in enough varied environments, goals, and types of interactions to keep the gameplay mechanics enjoyable for a whole game's worth, Elebits should turn out to be good fun.
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 29 Αυγούστου 2006 Δημοσ. 29 Αυγούστου 2006 Red Steel: Not The Super Spiffy Version Yet A part from Matt Casamassina's blog: The good folks at Ubi contacted me today to clarify a few things, namely that the videos in question do not represent the game as it really exists today. Apparently there are mechanical and graphical advancements not shown in the GC 2006 build, which is more or less an updated version of the E3 demo; it even showcases the same level. Ubisoft staff have at one point or another spotlighted a new darker look for the game (in screenshots) and chatted briefly about improved gunplay and swordplay fundamentals. There's even some word going around about a 1:1 control method for sword fights, which is at this point still just hearsay, as far as I'm concerned. So when might we see this new, better build in motion? Well, there's this big event coming up. You may have read something about it already on my blog. And at this event, there will be a crapload of Wii titles, including a truly updated version of Red Steel. Και μια επιβεβαιωση των παραπανω αλλα και μερικα νεα στοιχεια απο το The Wiire: German Web site Nintendo-LAN spoke with the developers of Red Steel, Ubisoft's upcoming first-person action game, during the Games Convention 2006 in Leipzig, Germany. Taking questions from a reader, the Red Steel developers shed further light on many of the game's aspects, including its graphics, load times, and redesigned control system. According to the interview, the developers, "confirmed that the control scheme will be completely redesigned so that the controller moves are converted into the game precisely. Besides, the controller sensitivity will be completely adjustable in the final version. And the graphics were improved very well since E3, now the atmosphere is darker and thrilling. But that's not all, there will be even more improvements on the graphics side." On loading times, it was revealed that, "In Red Steel there will be no loading times at all because of smart streaming techniques. How it's handled in other Wii games we can't say at the moment. But it's a fact that Mario Strikers Charged will have loading times similar to the GameCube version of the game."
kostacurtas Δημοσ. 30 Αυγούστου 2006 Δημοσ. 30 Αυγούστου 2006 European Wii Event On Sept 15th Just last week we found out that Nintendo will be holding a press event in the US on Sept 14th. While the details of the event havenʼt been released, we know that the Wii and DS will be present. The biggest rumor going around is that Nintendo will announce the Wii price point and release date at this event…but once again, nothing has been confirmed by The Big N besides the date itself. Now Nintendo of Europe has announced that a press event much like the one in the US will be taking place in London on Sept 15th. Following in NoAʼs footsteps, NoE has not announced what is the specific point of the event, but based on the US event, we can guess that the DS and Wii will be there.

The latest to jump on the retro bandwagon is Tecmo, the maker of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden. As part of a financial report issued on the 28th, the company promised to support the Virtual Console "aggressively." Specifics were not revealed Tecmo was a big name at the time of the NES, with classics like Tecmo Bowl and the original Ninja Gaiden series. The latest 3D Ninja Gaiden will likely end up on the Xbox 360, but fans of the original series can probably look forward to a revisit on the Wii.

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 3 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 3 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Info What to expect: The single greatest videogame of all time? Did we oversell it a bit? Really, we may not be kidding. At the very least, Twilight Princess is sure to be the best launch game in the history of launch games, but we're willing to bet it'll go down as much more than that. The title is the result of a massive effort by the proven Zelda team at Nintendo, which has in the past created some of today's most fondly remembered titles, from Ocarina of Time to Wind Waker. Twilight Princess will not only be bigger - a horse ride from one side of Hyrule to the next is rumored to take 45 real minutes - but much more ambitious than ever before. Link turns into a wolf, crossed into a dark dimension, goes fishing, and rides his way into more dungeons than ever - and he's just getting started. Truth be told, we've glimpsed scenarios that have made our jaws drop and Nintendo itself has indicated that we haven't seen anything yet. The final product is going to be nothing short of epic and with both a Wii-exclusive 16:9 mode and new Wii-mote-enhanced controls - the ability to shoot arrows and slash the sword - the game is on track to become an instant classic when it launches with Wii. kostacurtas Δημοσ. 3 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 3 Σεπτεμβρίου 2006 Resident Evil Wii Info A user of GameSpot.com has also posted the following rumor: In a HK magazine they said that the new resident evil wii will be called Biohazard : Umbrella Corp Chronicles and fills in the story on Umbrella before and leading to BH4. Gameplay is a mix between using the Wiimote as a light gun and BH4 style elements e.g. action buttons pressing X for a dramatic scene. It features scenarios from BH1 (museum), BH2 (police station), BH3 (raccoon city), BHCV and BH4 (village) and ties in the gaps especially BHCV and BH4. Characters include Chris/Claire, Leon / Ada, Jill / Carlos, Rebecca, Hunk and Wesker . There are two gameplay modes - scenario mode and arcade mode. Proper announcement to be made by Capcom at TGS.

The picture has turned out to be true, due to numerous sources who have informed me. The same image shows up in a packet sent out to EB/Gamestop employees to get them ready for the unit. Rumor: Now I have some info from an insider, info that I do indeed trust. Take this as unconfirmed for now, simply because this is a case of me trusting my source. I have heard that this same packet states that EB/Gamestop can expect to have their Wii demo kiosks up and running by the end of October. On top of that, my source told me that it is actually looking more like mid October, contrary to what is printed in the packet.
