Καλά, ούτε και το analog stick ήταν «νέο» όταν ξεκίνησε… θα μπορούσες και εκεί να έβαζες ένα παλαιότερο gamepad με μοχλό και να έπαιζες παιχνίδια που δεν είχαν φτιαχτεί για αυτό.

 

Το θέμα είναι ότι η τεχνολογία έχει προχωρήσει, το gamepad του ps3 είναι καλύτερο από αυτά του 99, και τώρα πιστεύω είναι ώρα να γίνεται σιγά-σιγά standar και το motion sensing .

Εγώ καταλαβαίνω λάθος ή με αυτό το "business model" αυτά που θα κατεβάσεις α) θα είναι απαραίτητα για να παίξεις πραγματικά το παιχνίδι και β) με τις χρεώσεις θα στοιχίζουν συνολικά όσο το ίδιο το game, αν όχι περισσότερο.

 

Έτσι όπως το διατύπωσε φαίνεται πως το ίδιο το παιχνίδι χωρίς downloadable content δεν θα είναι παρά ένα demo... :roll:

Marco: Our target resolution for Heavenly Sword is 720p with 4x MSAA, which we've already achieved. The frame rate target is not something completely set in stone at this time. Though our E3 demo was running at over 30 frames per second, I'm willing to bet the final game will run at 30 FPS. Hopefully this will allow us to push even more effects on screen.

UK Court: PS2 Not a PC

Same fate for PS3? Sony's legal woes continue abroad.

 

Perhaps Sony should be developing a new fleet of high priced lawyers. IGN is sure the cast of L.A. Law is still available.

 

Still recovering after losing another round in the patent infringement suit brought by rumble-tech patent holder Immersion, Sony has lost another fight. Across the pond a UK Court of Appeals ruled against Sony after a five-year legal battle to have the PS2 classified as a computer or "digital processing unit."

The reason behind the semantics debate is one more related to dollars than digital processing. Computers are exempt from EU import charges, but videogame consoles are not. Sony hoped a reclassification of the PlayStation 2's status would grant a $63 million (50 million Euro) dollar rebate on import duties paid on PS2s sold in the UK.

 

Lord Justice Chadwick, who may or may not rock at Guitar Hero, dismissed Sony's entire claim. "In my view," he wrote, "The skeleton argument filed in this Court on behalf of Sony goes beyond what can be regarded as acceptable written advocacy: it exceeds the bounds of propriety... I am not here protesting about its [the lawsuit's] inordinate length, nor about its discursive quality, nor about its frequent and unnecessary resort to hyperbole; although all those unappealing features are present. My concern is with the repeated aspersions that are cast in that document on the intellectual honesty of the High Court Judge from whose decision this appeal is brought."

 

While it is understandable to assume that Sony Papa Ken Kutaragi's latest diatribe about the next-gen PlayStation 3's status as a computer is a result of a lesson learned here, it would be incorrect. The European import tax on videogame consoles was reduced to zero in 2004.
