Sony Announces Adult Goods Brand

 

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced the start of a PlayStation-related goods brand for Japan. Called PlayStation Signature, this brand includes PSP related goods that target the more sophisticated and thick-pocketed gamer.

 

The following PlayStation Signature products were announced by SCEJ today:

 

Remote Control/Headphones: Special versions of Sony's MDR-EX90SL headphones and the PSP remote. 13,000 yen, available in white and black.

 

PSP Stand: Has holes for the speakers. 2,200 yen, available in white and black.

 

PSP Pouch: A leather case. 8,000 yen, available in white and black.

 

Wrist Watch: Features a 39mm, simple, round case. Available with leather strap band for 73,000 yen or metal band for 68,000 yen.

 

Wallet: Full leather, with PlayStation symbol colors used for stitching. 11,500 yen, available Summer 2006, only in black.

 

Crew Neck Knit Shirt: 15,000 yen, available only in white.

 

Wine Glass: Imprinted with the triangle, circle, X and square controller logo. 2,100 yen.

 

Wine Opener: Has a gold-colored imprint of the controller logo. 4,200 yen, available Summer 2006.

 

Photo Frame: Front is a mirror, back is made of wood. The frame attaches as a magnet. 3,500 yen, release in Summer 2006.

 

Leather Note Cover: Has pockets and pen holder and is made of leather. 20,000 yen.

 

Set of Two Ball-Point Pens: Controller logo is on pen cap. 2,600 yen, includes one each of silver and black.

 

EMILIO PUCCI X PLAYSTATION Signature PSP Case: A PSP case designed as a collaboration with Emilio Pucci. Each unit has a unique design. 33,600 yen.

First PS3s will be for Europe

As retail bites its nails over hardware allocation, SCEE president and CEO David Reeves has revealed that the first PS3s off the production line will be PAL units.

In an exclusive interview with MCV, the Euro boss moved to reassure the industry of SCEʼs newfound commitment to Europe – but admitted that some European territories may only be allocated ʽsmall seedʼ numbers of the console for day one.

 

“I hope we will be day and date with US and I hope that weʼll get the same quantities as US as well,” said Reeves. “I don't think weʼll be disadvantaged. In fact I believe the first PS3s being manufactured are being made for Europe – which is a first."

 

“Between November 17th and December 31st we'll hope to put them in as many European territories as we can, even if we have to place small seed quantities on day one."

 

And Reeves also responded to the recent discussions across the market over the consoleʼs £425 price tag:

 

“When Blu-Ray players come out in Europe they are probably going to be between €900 and €1,000. So €599 for a Blu-Ray player – which is what a PS3 is – and a games machines with lots of good titles coming out as well is actually a steal. And the €499 unit, because that will also play Blu-Ray, is even better value.”

Με άλλα λόγια, στο launch ο αριθμός των διαθέσιμων PS3 θα διαφέρει από χώρα σε χώρα, ανάλογα με τις πωλήσεις που αναμένεται να έχει στην εκάστοτε περιοχή. Στην περίπτωση της Ελλάδας λοιπόν, αν θεωρούν πως υπάρχει ζήτηση ΙΜΗΟ θα δώσουν μία ικανή ποσότητα προς πώληση, η οποία όμως μπορεί να μειωθεί αν η SCEE θεωρεί πως αυτά τα κομμάτια θα φύγουν σίγουρα αν διατεθούν π.χ. στην Αγγλία.

 

Επομένως όσοι θέλετε να την πάρετε στο launch (την κονσόλα), ξεκινήστε από τώρα να τσιγκλάτε την Sony Hellas μήπως και φέρουν καμμιά 1000άδα κονσόλες πανελλαδικά.

Next Gen Controller Breakdown

The controllers are going to have a big impact on the next generation. We examine all three.

But it's with these new systems you have to wonder. Is the next generation of gaming properly playable? I mean, if you take a look at the current status of game controlling today, you'll see that it's far more advanced than the day and age when it was all about the joystick and one fire/action button on the Atari 2600. Nowadays it's all about rumbling force feedback built in to controllers, or the use of analog sticks for precision movement, marking the difference between walking and running. There's the pause button, the select button, and several other buttons that somehow come into play, ranging from shoulder buttons to help you strafe or roll to the side to easy-to-use face buttons for simple functions, such as jumping or using the particular gun at hand (in some games- others use a shoulder button for instant fire).

 

So, with that, I've decided to take a look at the state of next-generation controllers. There's three out there just waiting to be judged, one that's currently on the market and two just itching to take gaming in a whole new direction. I've decided to look at each one through a series of categories, upon which I'll pick a winner as to which company is making the most durable, helpful controller out there. Let's look at the categories real quick.

Overall Xbox 360: The Xbox 360 controller isn't anything blazingly new in terms of control, but a fine modified version of the Controller S pad into wireless form that provides a great deal of comfort and ease of control. Something could be done to prolong the battery life or at least give an indication as to when it needs a change, but past that little setback, this is a great controller that works with a number of game types, be it a complex first-person shooter like Gears of War or a simple card game such as Uno.

 

Overall PS3: Sony's PS3 controller has a long way to go. Despite the fact that it has gyroscopic features built in and returns to the same old Dual Shock formula that the previous controllers did, it feels cheaply put together and seems to have most of its innovation borrowed from that other competitor, the Nintendo Wii. There's not really an original hook here to keep gamers thinking that the PS3 is innovative, even though the controller has that sense of comfort. Fortunately, the very final edition will see Sony giving it a little heft and a push of originality.

 

Overall Wii: The Nintendo Wii-mote is a solid controller and a grealy designed tool that should help boost the company back into the next-generation race. The system itself could use a little more of a technical boost to live up to this peripheral's potential, and some of the games aren't as smooth controlling as others (playing Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam with a sideways Wii-mote takes getting used to), but it still plays wonderfully and could lead the way for a new direction as to how games are played. Hell, even Sony's stealing some ideas.

Ρε συ terzo, εσύ δηλαδή ως έμπορος πόσο πουλούσες το PSP; Γιατί "νομίζω" ότι η τιμή του ήταν κοινή σε όλη την Ευρώπη, 269€.. Έτσι θα είναι και το PS3, fixed τιμή εκτός από κάποια καταστήματα που θα προσπαθήσουν να πιάσουν κορόιδα τους πελάτες.

Βρε φιλε μην τους το χαλας μαγαζι εχω και εχω μιλησει ηδη με τη Sony για το PS3 καθως απο οτι ξερεις καθε Απριλη κλεινουμε συνεργασια για ολο το οικονομικο ετος,η ιδιοι μου ειπαν οτι θα ειναι περιπου στα 650-689 ευρο και μαλλον στην αρχη δεω θα πουλιετε σκετο αλλα με δυο τιτλους,αλλα μην ακους τι λεει η Sony Hellas ο Bill θα καθορισει την τιμη στην Ελλαδα...

TO PS3 θα κοστίζει το ίδιο σε ΟΛΗ ΤΗΝ ΕΥΡΩΠΗ, ΟΠΩΣ ΑΚΡΙΒΩΣ είχε ίδια τιμή στην αρχή και το ΧΒΟΧ360 !!!

Aυτό έχει ανακοινωθεί επίσημα, και ότι άλλο είναι καθαρή ΠΑΡΑΠΛΗΡΟΦΟΡΙΣΗ.

(μιλάμε πάντα για απλά πακέτα, όχι bundles κλπ)

 

Οι επίσημες τιμές είναι συγκεκριμένα 499 και 599ευρώ για την ζώνη του ευρώ, 499 και 599 δολάρια για Αμερική, και 425 λίρες για Aγγλία ....

Οποιος θέλει να πουλήσει φτηνότερα μπορεί, όποιος πουλήσει περισσότερο θα είναι απλά ΑΠΑΤΕΩΝΑΣ, και μεμονωμένη περίπτωση .

(υποθέτω πως θα μπορεί να γίνει καταγγελία για τέτοιες περιπτώσεις , αλλά επειδή στην Ελλάδα δεν δουλεύει τίποτα, ας είμαστε προσεκτικοί από που αγοράζουμε.)

Οκ, το έκανα edit και μιλάω για τις τιμές και των δύο ps3 τώρα .

Εχει ανακοινωθεί επίσημα η τιμή για το core, οπότε μέχρι να υπάρξει επιβεβαίωση για το τι θα γίνει ,ας περιμένουμε.

Καταγγελία που βρε Bill; Στη Sony Hellas;

 

Αν δεν πει η Sony Hellas στους retailers πως "κύριοι, θα πουλήσετε σ' αυτή την τιμή και όποιος πουλήσει παραπάνω/παρακάτω δεν ξαναβλέπει προϊόν από μας", πως θα ελέγχεται ποιός πουλάει και πόσο;

 

Η M$ είχε δώσει επίσημη τιμή για το Xbox και το XBOX 360, η Sony πάλι δεν έχει δώσει για PS2 και PSP και για αυτό ο καθένας πουλάει όσο γουστάρει (PS2 βρίσκεις σήμερα με €129 μέχρι €159, σκέτη κονσόλα). Δεδομένης της σίγουρης ζήτησης που θα έχει η κονσόλα, δεν είναι καθόλου παράλογο να υποθέσουμε πως τα λίγα κομμάτια που θα διατεθούνε στην Ελληνική αγορά θα πωλούνται χρυσάφι. Για να μην αναφέρω και τους 100-200 Έλληνες καταναλωτές δηλαδή που περιμένουν πως και πως φθηνό Blu-ray και θα πάρουν το PS3 μόνο για αυτή τη δυνατότητα.

Θα το κάνει όπως ακριβώς με το xbox πρόσφατα, και παρότι στο ebay κόστιζε 800 ευρώ, κανένα κατάστημα δεν είχε ανεβάσει επίσημα τις τιμές του.

(Σίγουρα θα υπάρχει κάποιο είδος συμφωνίας με την Sony ώστε να τηρηθεί η τιμή λιανικής που ανακοίνωσαν , αλλά ίσως και το κράτος μπορεί να κυνηγήσει για κερδοσκοπία όποιους πουλάνε όσο θέλουν.)

 

Βέβαια επειδή είμαστε Ελλάδα και οι απατεώνες σίγουρα θα θέλουν να εκμεταλλευτούν τον κόσμο και την έλλειψη, χρειάζεται προσοχή.

(θα το ψάξω για την καταγγελία και που μπορεί να γίναι όταν έρθει η ώρα, αλλά γενικά λίγο προσοχή είναι ότι καλύτερο.)
