Δηλαδή εσύ πιστεύεις ότι η microsoft οργάνωσε προβοκάτσια επειδή φοβάται ότι το linux θα εξαπλωθεί τόσο πολύ από μία κονσόλα?

 

Πραγματικά πιστεύεις αυτό που λες? Ή το πιστεύεις με τον ίδιο τρόπο που πίστευες ότι το 360 υπερθερμαίνεται (δηλαδή δογματικά) ?

Δεν πιστεύω δογματικά ότι υπερθερμαινόταν ... αλλά με δεκάδες στοιχεία για αυτό …δόγμα είναι να πιστεύεις ότι όλα αυτά είναι ψέμα, χωρίς να το έχεις ψάξει.

 

Και δεν μιλάμε για προβοκάτσια, αλλά για κανονικό πόλεμο που ξεκίνησε πριν το 2000, όταν η sony έβαλε σκοπό να χτυπήσει την Microsoft στο θέμα του OS, και δεν δέχτηκε συνεργασία μαζί της.

Υπάρχουν και εκατομμύρια εταιρίες ή άνθρωποι με κάποια συμφέροντα στο χώρο των pc-windows, και πολλά λεφτά από το μονοπώλιο.

Και επιπλέον δεν μπορεί να τα δίνει όλα η Microsoft για να επιχορηγεί το xbox, αφού κάποια στιγμή μπορεί να την σταματήσουν για αθέμιτο ανταγωνισμό... σίγουρα θα έχει βρει και άλλους τρόπους να κάνει την δουλειά της εναντίων της Sony.

Και εγώ αυτά διαβάζω, και κατά πάσα πιθανότητα δέχεται και 1080p αναλογικά για όσους σκοπεύουν στο ps3core.

 

To μόνο σημείο είναι αν χάνει σε απλό σήμα composite και svideo ... τι λες εσύ ?

 

Από τους λόγους που πήρα την τηλεόραση ήταν γιατί θέλω 1080p στο ps3. Αυτήν τη στιγμή έχω και xbox 360 και σε 1080i βλέπω απίστευτα πράγματα. Δεν χρησιμοποιώ βέβαια την HDMI έξοδο αφού δεν υπάρχει ακόμα στο xbox. Μέσω HDMI σύνδεσα HTPC φίλου και είδα βιντεάκια 1080p. Εκεί απογειώθηκε.

 

Όλα αυτά με κάνουν να περιμένω και το ps3 με ανυπομονα παρόλα αυτά που ακούγονται. Με ενδιαφέρει άλλωστε και το blue ray. Απλά πιστεύω ότι έπρεπε να υπάρχει η δυνατότητα σ'αυτούς που δεν το θέλουν να μην πληρώνουν τα μαλλιά της κεφαλής τους.

The games on show for PS3 were thus:

 

Resistance: Call of Man

Call of Duty 2 with aliens, set in England. Was fun, but nowt special. And you can break the scripted events by saving the humans. Whoops. Decent gameplay and fast paced. The high amount of grenades was a good way to get people into the demo quicker. I imagine theyʼll use the tilt feature so you can peak out from behind walls. I wished for some interactive scenery, but if you take it as it looks like itʼs to be pitched – a traditional blaster with pretty graphics - then youʼll probably like it. Also, the screenshots are from the bit of the game set in Manchester, which if you don't live in England actually looks WORSE and the women are uglier.

 

Heavenly Sword

God of War meets Ninja Gaiden, with Crouching Tiger-style set pieces and atmosphere. Seems decent. Would like to see it in more varied locales. At present, it has promise.

 

Warhawk

I enjoyed it. Think Rogue Squadron but you control the shipʼs orientation with the tilt controls from the gyro and speed with the R shoulder buttons. The shoulders are now analogue and the L shoulders control lock-on, if my memory serves me correctly. Face buttons are for weapons and the right stick is to refine aim. It sounds bonkers but it does work well. Not sure how it will hold up in more intense difficulties, as it was a fraction unresponsive, but I guess weʼll find out in November.

 

Genji 2

Crap. The war bits from Onimusha but less inspiring. The original on PS2 was far superior. The combat design looked dated – oh look I can SWING A BIG POLE FOR AGES WHILE BIG LAME YELLOW GLOW SHIT COMES OFF THE END. Please. Stop. Nice detailed graphics, crappy frame rate, 90s-era design flaws and stiff animation do not a good game make. The conference demo was embarrassing.

 

Gran Turismo HD

Gran Turismo 4, in HD, with hi-res textures, the same models and lighting engine, bikes, classic cars and online play. I though this was GT5 and was luckily mistaken and corrected. It's a perfect Gran Turismo swansong for current gen, but why the hell would you not simply polish up the GT engine to next gen standards and include all that stuff in the package for that? At present, it just looks embrassing next to Project Gotham and other such. A shame. I spoke to someone close to the project and apparently it was a last minute call from the boys on high to get something out within 3 weeks. A sterling achievement in 3 weeks to be sure, but really, there's no need. That half hour demo at the conference made Polyphony look bad for possibly the first time ever. Those who played it knew what to expect and enjoyed it. It's not my cuppa, but driving sims never have been. Chuck in vehicle damage and I'll subscribe.

 

Formula 1

I could care less even if my leg was on fire and a Formula 1 game would be the only thing that could put the fire out. They showed off a form of connectivity (that thing Nintendo tried before realising its impracticalities) which involved using a PSP as a rear-view mirror. What was interesting, is that it seemed to be footage streaming from a PS3 onto the PSP screen. Let me rephrase that - direct feed PS3 visuals on your PSP in real time. Now what could be interesting is if you could then command the visuals via Wi-Fi using the d-pad or analogue nipple. It'd still be wildly impractical, but at least cool. And there's no doubt Sony's dodgy PRs will spin it into something like "PS3 visuals capable on PSP!!!" That's of course if my eyes weren't deceiving me and the visuals were actually scaled down.

 

Singstar

My favourite PS3 game. Depressing, as this could be done on pretty much any machine with a HD and an online connection. Hell – it could be a bespoke thing all on its own. 350 songs will come with the kit when itʼs released. It has Queen and therefore rules. You can then go onto Sonyʼs online music library and pick from lots of other artistes and their Singstar enabled songs, complete with music video. So potentially, thatʼs a game that could last you forever and they could always refine the overall engine with online patches. THIS is where games should be going. Gran Turismo and Tekken could benefit from such a delivery structure for new characters, cars, tracks and so on…

 

 

Motorstorm

Never played it. Apparently it showed up on day 2 behind closed doors and the few I know who checked it out thought it was abysmal in every possible sense.

 

Assassinʼs Creed

Highly, highly promising, though we were teased, rather than fed. And not exclusive according to the Ubi Soft guy who slipped up

 

Sonic PS3/Xbox360

As broken as the last ones but now with a character that can telekinetically move things like in Psi Ops. But not as fun. You still die real easy because the camera adjusts itself a bit when you jump and disorientates you. WHEN WILL THEY LEARN?!?!?!

 

Eye of Judgement

This is the augmented reality technology game. Itʼs very awesome potentially, but looks like it could be done on a PS2. An awesome step in the right direction, but the visuals need improving I think to truly impress. Right now itʼs PS2-level 3D.

 

Final Fantasy 13

Staggering. Utterly beautiful. Will no doubt be a huge hit in Japan, not sure about everywhere else though. Do 100 hour games have that much pull anymore?

Metal Gear Solid 4

Awesome. My most eagerly anticipated of the bunch. And Snake is finally laid to rest. Apparently.

Tekken

NOT TEKKEN 6 according to friends close to the project. Looks like a 'tag' conversion of Dark Ressurection. Not a patch on the CG trailer released last year. For shame.

 

Naughty Dog game

Looks like Jason Rubin was modelled to star in a sequel to Tomb Raider. Looks like it could be a decent hybrid of action genres. Made me think Pitfall + Resident Evil.

Getaway

A scene in Little Venice in Maida Vale if memory serves me correctly. Nice CG. No idea about the game, though someone working on it did say that Sony were sick of making it shit and wanted to spend 6 months getting the design basics right before going further. Good.

 

8 Days

Looked 'too' CG and overly cinematic. Would be intrigued to see if it's more than just a blow-stuff-up game.

Stranglehold

By the boys behind Psi Ops, so HIGHLY LIKELY to RULE. Looks great, everyone who saw it, loved it. Very much looking forward to it myself. Love the sense of destruction and the special move involving doves. THIS is how you make movie games.

Virtua Fighter 5

Need you ask? Sega graciously blessed E3 with an arcade cabinet, though it was criminal that it wasn't winner stays on. I took great joy in demolishing a cheesy Lion player with my rusty Brad. Is it me or does that sound like a euphymsm (did I even spell that correctly?)

L.A.I.R

People close to the project say all the stuff in the trailer was real time. It looks great, but it's Panzer Dragoon, aka a game I played many years ago, but prettier - right down to mixing flight with ground areas (or so I'm told). I guess we'll be able to see how it fares when it comes out.

Τέλος από εμένα η συζήτηση με ένα άτομο που κατηγορεί την Microsoft για ένα δισκάκι dvd-r που βρέθηκε σε drive BR σε party της Sony.

 

Για να συνεχίσω τη συζήτηση μαζί σου θα έπρεπε να αρχίσω να σκέφτομαι όπως εσύ, και να φαντάζομαι διάφορα πράγματα. Να πω δηλαδή κάτι τέτοιο: "Δεν μπορούμε να αγνοήσουμε την πιθανότητα να υπάρχουν εξωγήινοι, και στον πλανήτη τους το πιο διαδεδομένο OS να νιώθει ότι απειλείται από την νέα κονσόλα. Αααα, οι εξωγήινοι αυτοί πήγαν στον πλανήτη όπου κατοικούν τώρα μετά από έκρηξη που έγινε στον προηγούμενο πλανήτη τους. Ναι, δυστυχώς μία άλλη φυλή εξωγήινων κατάφερε και έφτιαξε ατομική βόμβα όταν έπεσε κατά τύχη στα χέρια της ο επεξεργαστής του PS2". Άσε καλύτερα. Δεν θα το κάνω.

Δεν ξέρω από που παίρνεις σήμα 1080p (μέσω υπολογιστή ή μέσω κάποιου δορυφορικού καναλιού που εκπέμπει 1080p), αλλά η διαφορά είναι εμφανής. Ιδιαίτερα σε μεγάλων διαστάσεων τηλεόραση. Αφου στην σάρωση 1080i (interlaced) υπάρχει εναλλαγή 540 γραμμών γρήγορα ωστε να αφήνει την ψευδαίσθηση των 1080, ενώ στο 1080p (progressive) υπάρχουν μόνιμα οι 1080 γραμμές. Αξιζει να αναφέρουμε ότι δεν υπάρχουν πολλές 1080p τηλεοράσεις στην αγορά. Θα βγουν αρκετά μοντέλα στην αγορά τον επόμενο διάστημα, αλλά αυτήν την στιγμή είναι ελάχιστα. Πόσο μάλλον η τηλεόραση 70" που αναφέρεις, αφού ακόμα δεν έχει βγει στην αγορά τηλεόραση 1080p στις 70". Αναμένεται και θα ξυρίζει απίστευτα στην τιμή.

Απόψεις είναι αυτές που δεν είναι κακό να λέγονται ... άλλοι θεωρούν πως το μονοπωλιακό όραμα της Microsoft και το βόλεμα που υπάρχει όταν ξέρουμε ότι όλα είναι ίδια και συμβατά, βολεύει τους πάντες .

 

Εγώ θέλω να επιβραβεύεται όποια άξια εταιρία, που βγάζει καλά προϊόντα και μπορεί να προσφέρει κάτι διαφορετικό, και όχι η άλλη που απλά επιδοτεί την "μάπα" κονσόλα από τα κέρδη των windows για να φαίνεται ελκυστική και να χτυπήσει τον ανταγωνιστή της .

Bill το αν ειναι μαπα το ΧΒΟΧ 360 θα σε παρακαλουσα να το κρατας για τον εαυτο σου,εγω και εκατομυρια αλλοι καταναλωτες εχουμε δωσει ενα σεβαστο ποσο για να την παρουμε και να κατακρινει καποιος ενα προιον χωρις να το εχει ειναι αρκετα επιπολεο και προσβλητικο για τους υπολοιπους,ειδικα οταν αυτο το ατομο εχει αποφασισει να περιμενει ενα μηχανημα που ακομα δεν ξερει τι θα κανει..

 

Οσο για το μωνοπολιο που λες δεν καταλαβαινω γιατι σε ενοχλει αυτο μονο στα windows ενω στις κονσολες θα ηθελες αν ειναι δυνατον να αποσυρθουν ολες οι κονσολες και να βγαινει μονο PS3.

1. Δεν την κατηγορείς τη Microsoft αλλά από τα πρώτα που σου πέρασαν από το μυαλό είναι ότι "κάποιους πλήρωσε η microsoft" !!
