Sony completely denies Merrill Lynch report of a PS3 delay, and said the report itself was mostly fabricated.

A Sony spokesperson said that some of the pricing quotes used by Merrill Lynch are completely bogus, since neither they nor any other firm know the exact assembly cost for the PS3. And, that a PS3 delay is "completely nonsense."

We also found out yesterday that Sony is indeed; ready to launch games for the PS3 in Spring 2006 with the video game machine...

Kei Sakaguchi, a Sony spokesman in Tokyo said, "There is no change in our original plan to release the console in spring 2006 in Japan."

Next-Gen DVD Copy-Protection Debacle

Hollywood screws 3 million HDTV owners, sucks in general.

 

February 24, 2006 - In perhaps the greatest disservice to the general consumer market yet perpetrated by players in the electronic entertainment industry, it has been revealed that next-generation DVD technologies (HD-DVD and Blu-ray) will only function with monitors and HDTVs with HDMI or DVI connections.

 

What does that mean to you? If you purchased an HDTV more than a couple of years ago, chances are you are using Component Video (the red, green, and blue plugs) to connect HD sources to your TV. Component Video is an analog transmission, which means that it can't work with the absurdly stringent AACS copy-protection Hollywood has insisted be integrated into the new formats. Thus, no HDMI input on your TV, no hi-def DVD for you. If you don't have a compatible TV, you'll either receive a massively downgraded sub-720p resolution version of the content, or what the studios are suggesting, a warning screen followed by nothing.

Από το βουνό τους κατέβασαν αυτούς που το έγραψαν; Πού ήταν τα 1-2 τελευταία χρόνια;

Αναφέρονται στο πασίγνωστο HDCP και όσα γράφουν είναι πολύ καιρό γνωστά. Μόνο που το θέμα δεν έχει καταλήξει και είναι ένας λόγος που αργούν τα Bluray-HDDVD (και κατ' επέκταση το PS3).

Η αν και κατά πόσο θα υπάρχει πρόβλημα με το HDCP από αναλογικές εξ'οδους δεν έχει ξεκαθαριστεί πλήρως. Η Samsung πχ αναφέρει ότι δεν θα υπάρχει κανένα πρόβλημα. Ακόμα το http://hiddenwires.co.uk/ γράφει:

"Using the analogue HD signal removes the HDCP problem as this is not present on the analogue outputs, and so removes the problem of backward compatibility of older displays not being HDCP compliant. "

Και κάτι άλλο: Αν υπάρξει πρόβλημα, γιατί η Microsoft ανακοίνωσε HD Dvd; Τόσο άσχετοι είναι;

Tο AACS είναι ένα σύστημα κλειδιών κατά της αντιγραφής και της διανομής αντιγράφων< και προε το παρόν δεν έχει σχέση με ψηφιακές εξόδους. Αλλά είναι άλλος ένας λόγος καθυστέρησης.

 

Μην αναλύετε και ψάχνετε και σχολιάζετε όποιο κακό νέο εμφανίζεται για το PS3 και καταπίνετε αμάσητο ό,τι καλό ακούτε (και αντίστροφα για το 360...) γιατί ακούγονται πολλές ανακρίβειες...

πηρα μια samsung LE32R51B πριν λιγο καιρο. κανει?

edit: αν ακταλαβα καλα, αυτο εχει να κανει ΜΟΝΟ με HD-DVD - BLUERAY MOVIES???

Δες τις υποδοχες εισοδου,αν οντως ισχυουν τα παραπανω,τοτε πρεπει να εχεις εισοδους DVI ή HDMI για να πεις οτι παιζουν...

 

Το HDMI ειναι κλειδωμενο σε ολες τις συσκευες αναπαραγωγης,κατι σαν το MacroVision που εχουν τα συμβατικα DVD Players,υπαρχουν τροποι να το ξεκλιδωσεις σε πολλα απο αυτα οποτε δεν θα υπαρχει τεραστιο προβλημα αν οντως ισχυουν τα απο πανω.Εκτος πια και αναβαθμιστουν τα νεα Players και δεν θα διαρευσει ο κωδικος ξεκλιδωματος.

xmm εχει απο πισω κατι εισοδους που λενε HDMI - DVI IN που ειναι σαν κουτσουρεμενα usb..

παντως αν εχει να κανει μονο με movie playback.. χ#στηκαμε :-D

τα games να παιζουνε καλα, και ολα τ'αλλα να πα να ......... :mrgreen:
